Obliviously Cool

My parents recently came over to see me in Barcelona, they are well traveled and very easy to entertain. An ideal day for them was a trip to Las Encants in the morning (dads eyes widened at the mass of electric wires and mum picked up some tights- "so cheap and you can't get these patterns in England"), a beer at the beach followed by a snooze. Like I said easily entertained.
My Mum is the kind of person who brings a cloth and rubber gloves in her suitcase just incase the apartment is dirty, she likes to come prepared (and is also a clean freak). Days before their visit she seemed very excited on one of our daily skype calls and no it wasn't the fact that she was about to see her daughter. "I popped next door to my work and picked up the perfect pair of shoes for our trip- they are SO comfy, red suede and a bargain at £30"
I wiggled in my seat, deep breath, its ok parents arn't around to make you feel cool.
"So great that I even bought your father a pair though he went to for the navy blue.... something about luxury that I didn't understand"
My eyes widened a bit whilst I took a large sip of my morning coffee
"huh? what shop was it again? what make are they?"
"you know the skater shop next door to my work- they are Vans"
I giggled " I can't WAIT to see you mum"
"me too darling"
I never managed to get a shot of them on their stay but popped home this weekend to get them in their natural setting complete with watering can.
